Churches Together

JUNE 2021

The object for Churches Together in Mill Hill is for its member churches to share together in the ministry of Christ in the world through worship, mission and service

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us –
so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
Psalm 67:1–2, NIV

Lord, Almighty God, you are our Father and we are your children, who want to live for you through Jesus Christ our Lord. Strengthen and renew our hearts.
When discouragement and fear try to mislead us, may your Holy Spirit help us again and again to hold fast, for no matter what difficulties arise, your will is being done and your will is good. Your name will be honoured. Your kingdom will come for all nations. Your reign will come over all peoples, for they are all yours and must acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Lord, to your honour, O Father. Amen.

Hello, are you looking for something worthwhile to do    but will not take up a huge amount of time?

Hendon Christian Housing Association (HCHA) provides social housing for low rent in Barnet. Its properties are available for those in housing need with a local connection.

As Christians, one of the many ways in which we are able to practically demonstrate the love of Jesus in our local area is by helping to provide safe shelter for those in need.

HCHA has always had representatives from local residents and Mill Hill churches on the Management Board; currently we are looking to replace retiring members.

Please have a look on the HCHA website

Night shelter Update

A HUGE thank you to those who have prayed, given financially or provided food for the Hotel Night shelter this year.  Please keep the homeless in your prayers.  As restrictions ease, the current provision for accommodation becomes far less certain.

It seems unlikely that the Night shelters run in individual churches will run again this coming winter (21 – 22) and there are proposals to provide accommodation using hotels.

Churches Count on Nature

On Saturday 12th June between 12 noon - 5pm, St Paul's Church is taking part in Churches Count on Nature. The aim of the project is to discover the variety of flora and fauna found in churchyards across England and Wales and it is being jointly run by the conservation charities Caring for God's Acre, A Rocha UK, the Church of England and the Church of Wales.

You are welcome to come and help find out what wildlife there is in our churchyard at St Paul's, and to learn more about it.  We are planning a wildlife trail with activities for all ages, and information to help identify the different species of insects, flowering and other plants and wildlife that might be seen.

As the remaining Covid 19 restrictions will still be in place there will be some limitations, but we are hoping that refreshments will be on offer (we ask that you bring your own cup!) and that we will be supported by other local wildlife groups.
