Who's Who?

Rev Steven Young

Vicar

Hi everyone!

My name is Steven Young and I'm vicar of St Michael and All Angel's Mill Hill.

As a consequence of knowing first hand how challenging it is to bring a toddler and young child to a church I have striven to ensure that St Michael's is a child friendly church where children are nurtured in the faith, welcomed, fully including, and certainly not "tutted" at for making age appropriate noises during worship!

I'm originally from Staffordshire but  I've been living in London since I was 17.  I've had lots of weird and wonderful jobs from being a fundraiser for the charity Shelter to being a Footman to the Royal Household.  I was ordained in 2008 and after three years in my training parish, just down the road in Hendon, I  came to Mill Hill to serve at St Michael's in 2011.

It's been a great privilege to be part  of the church at St Michael's. The last five years have been an exciting journey, watching the community grow spiritually and numerically and discerning together how God is calling us to make the love of Christ known in Mill Hill and beyond.

We are always looking for a new ways to serve God and value everyone's input - you're never too "new" to join in at St Michael's. If you have a particular, skill, talent or passion St Michael is a community where your gifts are cherished and celebrated.

In my holiday time I like to snowboard in Scotland where my family have a home (yes... you CAN ski there!) and on my day off I often get a snow fix at the indoor "fridges" at Milton Keynes and Hemel Hempstead Snow Centres.

I am so pleased that St Michael's church is a diverse, vibrant and inclusive community -  a place where ALL are welcomed, without question or exception, as the people they are. I sincerely hope that you feel welcome and at home in our church community and I look forward to getting to meeting you soon.

With peace, prayers and best wishes,

Steven.
