The Road To 100
The foundation stone of St Michael and All Angel’s Mill Hill was laid on 26th June 1921. On Saturday 26 June 2021 we will celebrate the hundredth anniversary of St Michael’s Church.
We are in the throes of creating the 1st edition of a new magazine which is a celebration of where we are now as a church community and an opportunity to reflect together on where we want to be when we celebrate our glorious centenary.
I hope you will enjoy reading this magazine but moreover it is my sincere hope that it will be a stimulus for your prayer and reflection. At St Michael’s we’ve been entrusted with tremendous gifts. We have a beautiful church building situated in a prime location just off the busy hub of Mill Hill Broadway. In September 2014 we opened our brand new church hall facililty which is already proving to be a centre of community life in Mill Hill providing us with countless opportunities for outreach and to work in dynamic partnership with many community providers.
We are also blessed with a diverse and growing congregation. People are daily coming to new and abundant faith in Christ. Yet, we cannot and should not rest on our laurels. “For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.” Luke 12.48.
May God lead us together into such a knowledge of His divine love that we seek to do His will in all things. Let’s be ready. Let’s discern together how we can continue to grow into the community Christ is calling us to be.
After all, you’re only 100 once…
