RESUMING SERVICES AT ST MICHAEL'S
Since Sunday 26th July we have resumed public services on Sundays.
This is an opportunity for the first time since lockdown to meet in the church building for our parish Mass at 10:30.
We will be opening the church doors at 10:15 and the doors will close at 10:35.
The maximum number we can safely accommodate in church is 27 worshippers and 3 ministers.
Entry will be on a first come first served basis and we advise you to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
There will be no admittance after 10:35.
All attendees are strongly advised to wear facemasks unless there is a medical reason that makes this impossible for you.
We also ask that all worshippers sanitise their hands on entry, follow our one way system and maintain social distancing throughout. Communion will be offered in the form of bread only.
Please do not attend worship if you have any concerns whatsoever about your health and especially please do NOT attend if you have a high temperature or persistent dry cough.
If we have more than 27 people wishing to attend worship and you arrive after church is full you may sit outside and communion will be brought out to you at the distribution.
Our churchwardens Evelyn and Peter will be comissioned at the 10:30am Mass;
Yuki Johnson will be preaching for the first time at St Michael's as a Licenced Lay Minister,
and Keiko Kitamura will be playing some Japanese Koto music.
It is really important that nobody feels compelled to attend worship in church.
Please make a decision that is right for you and your individual needs.
For the time being, in line with Government guidance, there will be no communal singing.
Neither will we be able to share refreshments after the service.
St. Michael's Meets in Hartley Hall
We are offering two church services at the same time - 10:30 Sunday - to increase capacity in these restricted times and enable more people, especially family groups, to be present in buildings at Worship.
We continue with our recent format in Church including Organ music.
Additionally, we can take up to 40 people seated at tables in Hartley Hall.
The extra service is more All Age Worship style but will still have Eucharistic presence. Our main liturgy will be the Family Service which we have previously used on the first Sunday of the month.
Hall entrance will be from 10:15 to maximum 10:45 or capacity (40) if sooner.
Safeguarding, Sanitising and Social Distancing remain a priority.
Children must be in family/carer groups and all ages are welcome.
We are unable to take a collection during either service, but if you do wish to make a donation online, you can do so here.
Using our new contactless card reader, it is now also possible to contibute after the service in the church!
Live-streaming Zoom service
The Zoom service will continue every Sunday at the new time of 18:00 and it is our hope that this will be considered as an equally valid form of worship as any service that is held in church.
Christ says that when just two or three are gathered together in His name He is present in their midst and this is the case whether online or in church.
This Sunday, 1st November is the eve of All Souls' Day, and our Zoom service will be a special All Souls' Requiem.
This is a Eucharist of the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed.
At this service we pray especially for those whom we love but no longer see.
Please share the zoom link with those who may wish to dial in by phone and are not in receipt of the email.
