Children's Church
Children of all ages are welcome at SMMH.
We encourage children to fully experience worship at St Michael’s Church and many find opportunity to be servers for the weekly Sunday service. On most weeks, the children go into a separate area once the readings are underway for a short session together. Here the theme is usually linked to the readings on the day and we spend time in story, prayer and action. This may include learning worship songs and colouring work. We highlight the major themes as well, often producing something special in the process. A great recent example was a collage for the Altar table in the season of Advent through to Candlemas. Once back in church in time for Eucharist which they closely observe, there is often amazing feedback from the children as to what they have done in group time.

Children are the future
During the 10.30 Parish Eucharist on Sunday mornings, children are invited to take part in age appropriate activities.
For little ones we have a welcoming space with toys and books for them to play and explore whilst their parents enjoy the service.
Older children are encouraged to encounter God’s word and are invited to join in discussion, song, drama, craft and prayer in the church hall next to the church with our volunteer children workers.
